Skype Friday

Friday, March 23rd, was a great Skyping day!

In the morning 8th graders met other 8th graders from Mexico. They live in the city of Aguascalientes and go to Valledefiladelfia:

The students were excited to meet each other and wanted to know what kind of music they listened to and what kind of cell phones they used!  The students from Mexico were able to use their cell phones for academics and our students were a bit jealous!

The 5th graders met other 5th graders from Hendricks Day School in Jacksonville, Florida.  They talked about the weather and great vacation spots in Florida and Chicago.  The students have started blogging with each other and wanted to see who they were actually blogging! Mr. Meyers is the technology teacher and we got to know each other through the Digiteen project.

This was the first time the students from Florida used Skype to communicate with another classroom.  They were very excited!

The 4th graders had the opportunity to speak with students from the same school in Mexico, Valledefiladelfia.  The students were 3rd graders and they asked what sports they liked (soccer or futbol) and compare their favorite subjects.

This was a great experience and a step towards future collaborations!
